Anonymous asked: How is your brother doing? You mom? Grandparents? And how are Aaron and Isaac? Are they feeling better?
That’s a lot of questions ;)
From what I understand, Bob is working part time on graveyard shifts at the (shipping and cargo) place where my mom is a security guard. The two of them share an apartment, along with his girlfriend who recently finished at JobCorps and moved up there with them. My mother, in typical my-mother fashion, hates the girlfriend. And my mom just got fired over some complicated snafu I don’t really understand with unattended bins or something. Nevertheless, I think she’s doing very very well…she’s going out with friends on the weekend, striking up conversations with old connections on facebook, and acting happy sometimes - all of which are absolutely unheard of for her.
My Nana and Pa are increasingly unpleasable - I think it’s a combination of aging and meds :/ And, you know, impossible situations and their obvious decline, which must be hard to deal with. There are no easy answers for them, up there. Nana remains in-patient since Pa’s heart surgery, which he’s healed ok from and is home since. Though he has had some weird unrelated health stuff of various sorts. She has a lot of delusional paranoia. They skype with my sister and her kids relatively often. I try to make up for my guilt over how I hate calling by sending them lots of cards full of personal filled-in writing, which I then hear that they liked.
Aaron has a follow up Thursday, just last minute rescheduled by the office today because of the doctors’ (impromptu? DOCTORS MAN) vacation, which is really irritating because I have 3 classes in a row that I have to miss in only the second week of school :/ But, he has to go. He feels awful a lot of the time - we skipped TLC today because of it :/ I hope to learn SOMETHING from his blood test results when we go in.
Isaac’s doing very well. We give him probiotics every morning, and miralax every evening. I make him eat a lot of raw carrots and such, and drag him on walks. He is really liking school. He’s not going to the bathroom as much as he should be, and his belly is not as squishy as it was when he first got out of the hospital, but it’s better than it typically was for a long long time before he went in. And he has a follow up scheduled as well.
