Anonymous asked: If someone told you they thought your book was terrible, how would you feel?
I am very prepared for that. I am 100% sure lots of people would/will find it terrible.
What I get really emotional about is presentation and publication things beyond my control - for instance, the cover art was not perfectly centered and there was a typo, in the first version available, and I’m mortified that some people saw it that way (this is why we haven’t been publicizing!!) Likewise, I’m not happy with how my book description and bio are arranged on Amazon, and these kinds of things can actually give me horrible stomach cramps and make me feel faint if I’m having a bad day. When we were discussing cover options, I really hated some of the ones my publisher loved, and I was a wide eyed shaky mess about it til we came to a decision. It’s very hard for me to deal with knowing that I can’t necessarily control how I’m represented, or that others will make decisions that seem like they were mine. I LOATHE the Kindle formatting >:O
But people hating the book itself on it’s own merits is a given I’m braced for. It’s not for everyone.
