whatwouldhannibaldo asked: Hey! You've mentioned that you give Isaac probiotics - what do you give him, exactly? Acidophilus? I'm thinking this is something I want to look into for myself. Thanks :)

I give Isaac and Elise a combined, refrigerated, chewable kids’ probiotic called Florabear, that has lactobacillus acidophilus, bifodobacterium bifidum, and bifodobacterium infantis (1 billion units). They take 2+ each per day depending on various factors (she gets yeast flareups; he gets extra constipated - either mean I up the dose).

I keep refrigerated capsules around for me, and Grant liquid (he can’t take pills). Adult dosages are WAY higher. He uses it all the time; I use them if I have a problem (yeast infection, illness, whatever).

I guess the things you need to know if you want probiotics are, they’re expensive, and the more expensive, the better they work :p Really though, it’s kinda ridiculous. Like you can get these cheapy shelf versions at room temperature that have never had any discernible effect for any of us :/

We also keep greek yogurt in the house as a staple, and buy probiotic popsicles and chocolate fairly often.
